Ahold Delhaize Coffee company aspires to contribute to the future of high-quality coffee. This ambition is reflected by investment in all facets needed to realise the transition to 100% sustainable coffee production. One of those is CO2 neutral production.

40% of CO2 or the CO2 equivalent in other gasses, is released during production (for instance from growing, harvest, transport and processing). To produce coffee in a CO2 neutral manner, changes are being made in our own factory. At farm level, we also want to support farmers to transition to cleaner, CO2 neutral production, using sustainable methods that also makes farming more resilient to climate change.

Since December 2018, our coffee is produced CO2 neutrally. We achieve this through reducing energy use, investing in renewable energy and by using 100% sustainable energy. In addition, we research the possibilities to use the residual heat in our factory. We are certified CO2 neutral by the Climate Neutral Group
